History
DKW Meisterklasse
Introduced in 1950, the DKW Meisterklasse helped motorize West Germany during the reconstruction era. The car utilized DKW's proven front-wheel-drive layout with a 684cc three-cylinder two-stroke engine that required oil-fuel mixing. Its body featured a wooden frame covered with artificial leather and steel panels, a cost-saving measure common in immediate post-war production. Over 60,000 units were built before the model was replaced by the more modern DKW 3=6 series, establishing DKW as a leading economy car manufacturer.
