History
Gräf & Stift SP8
Gräf & Stift built Austria's most prestigious automobiles, competing with Rolls-Royce and Mercedes for the ultra-luxury market. The SP8 featured a silky-smooth straight-eight engine and coachbuilt bodies of exceptional quality. These massive limousines were favored by European royalty, government officials, and the wealthy elite. The marque is historically significant as Archduke Franz Ferdinand was riding in a Gräf & Stift when assassinated in 1914, triggering World War I. Production ended as Austria's economy collapsed in the late 1930s.
