The Gardner Model 5 established the brand's reputation for well-built, reliable automobiles. Powered by a sturdy Lycoming four-cylinder engine, it offered good performance and durability. Gardner focused on quality over quantity, building cars that appealed to conservative buyers who valued substance over flash, though the company eventually moved to six- and eight-cylinder models before closing in 1931.
