Stanley 735

The Stanley 735 featured improvements over earlier Stanley Steamers, including a more efficient condenser to reduce water consumption. Its two-cylinder steam engine drove the rear wheels directly without transmission, providing smooth, vibration-free power. Stanleys could climb steep hills from a standstill that defeated gasoline cars. The decline of steam power and rise of electric starters on gasoline engines led to Stanley's closure in 1924.
